BHD Currency Converter

Convert Bahraini dinar to and from 22 major currencies, with live API rates and the official 0.376 BHD per USD peg available offline.

How BHD rates work

Since 1980 the Bahraini dinar has maintained its fixed rate of 0.376 BHD per USD. Several Gulf currencies are also pegged to the dollar, while the Kuwaiti dinar is pegged to a currency basket.

This converter pulls live rates from a public API. If the API is unreachable, it uses a recent validated rate saved in this browser. Without a recent rate, only BHD and the official USD peg remain available.

Worked example

BHD 1,000 at the standard peg rate equals approximately USD 2,659.57. Going the other way, USD 1,000 equals BHD 376.00. Your provider's customer rate and fees may differ from the reference rate.

Quick formulas

BHD → currency: amount ÷ (BHD per unit of currency).
Currency → BHD: amount × (BHD per unit of currency).
USD peg: 1 USD = 0.376 BHD (fixed since 1980).

Frequently asked questions

What is the BHD to USD exchange rate?
The fixed rate is 0.376 BHD per USD and has been maintained since 1980.
Are GCC currencies pegged to the dollar?
Most are. The Saudi and Qatari riyals, Bahraini dinar and Omani rial use USD pegs. The Kuwaiti dinar uses a currency basket.
Where can I get the best BHD rates?
Specialist exchange houses (Al Ansari, LuLu, Western Union) usually beat bank rates.
Are these rates suitable for FX trading?
No - these are reference rates for budgeting and remittance, not trading.
What happens if live rates are unavailable?
The calculator can use a validated rate cached for up to seven days. Otherwise it computes only BHD and USD using the official peg and marks other currencies unavailable.

Reference only. Always confirm the actual rate with your bank or exchange house before sending money.
